I have been a special education teacher for 15 years total. I worked at the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf for 11 years and taught special education in Gwinnett County Public Schools for 4 years. I have worked with students ages 3-21 who have different abilities including deaf and hard of hearing, autism, intellectual disabilities, traumatic brain injury, emotional behavior disorders, ADHD, and learning disabilities. I am fluent in American Sign Language. I am skilled at individualized implementation of concepts and modifying the topics to meet students at their level and give them scaffolded support to help them understand what he or she is learning. I believe all students can learn and meet his or her potential. The key is understanding the student and what I need to provide for the student to attain success. - Natalie Pereles
