Educational Summer "Field Trips" You Can Do With Your Kids!

The Greater Atlanta area is FULL of amazing things to do with your kids that are both affordable and educational. From the Georgia Aquarium to Medeival Times, there's something for every interest! Get your kids out of the house this summer and learning (without them realizing they're learning because it's so fun!).


Georgia Aquarium

The 4th largest aquarium in the world, Georgia Aquarium boasts 10 million gallons of water that houses everything from whale sharks to jellyfish. With multiple interactive presentations, including dolphins and sea lions, this is sure to be a family favorite! Anyone with a love of marine life or ocean conservation will enjoy their day exploring.

Medeival Times


History comes to life at Medeival Times! Attendees sit and enjoy a "traditional" meal while watching an extraordinary display of jousting, swordsmanship, horsemanship and falconry as part of a story set in Medeival Spain. You'll be broken into colored groups and given a specific knight to cheer on throughout the show. This immersive experience will have the whole family interested in learning more about this fascinating history!

Fernbank Museum of Natural History

Tellus Science Museum


Located in Cartersville, GA, the Tellus Museum has a number of permanent exhibits as well as exhibits that rotate every three months. Families get face-to-face with dinosaurs and follow up a tour of this gallery with a visit to our fossil dig. For an enhanced learning experience, download and print your own Fossil Hunting License and bring it with you to identify your finds. Another favorite at Tellus is the Bentley Planetarium. Lean back as the digital projector takes you through our solar system to the edge of our galaxy and beyond.
