I have been a special education teacher for 15 years total. I worked at the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf for 11 years and taught special education in Gwinnett County Public Schools for 4 years. I have worked with students ages 3-21 who have different abilities including deaf and hard of hearing, autism, intellectual disabilities, traumatic brain injury, emotional behavior disorders, ADHD, and learning disabilities. Peggy has taught special education in the public schools for 31 years. During her tenure, Peggy received Teacher of the Year 3 different times! Her experience ranges from teaching children from kindergarten age through grade 6 as well as teaching high school equivalency classes. She is certified at the bachelor’s level in Regular Education K-6 and teaching of students with Mild/Moderate Intellectual Disabilities.
